On page 243 Smaug is talking to Bilbo and he is trying to influence him to believe something else. He tells him that you will go to a bad end if you stay with such friends (the dwarves). Later on during the chapter Bilbo believes Smaug and starts to question whether or not Smaug was right- for example on page 244. Do you think that this will continue to puzzle Bilbo or will he still continue to trust the dwarves and let that comment blow by him? Will this effect him later on?
