Okay so everyone has a weak spot even a big scary fire-breathing dragon. So on page 203 Smaug says, " I am armoured above and below with scales and hard gems. No blade can pierce me". Little did he know that Bilbo saw the little bare patch on his breast. Why do you think Smaug showed that to Bilbo knowing that it was possible for Bilbo to see it? Do you think he knows he has it? Do you think this is a large componet in the way that the dwarves have the most likely chance of defeating the Dragon?
