Well,whats the purpose of turning back if they came on this journey for what they are about to enter...and if Balin wants to urn back why did he com on the journey in the first place.

I would want to turn back at the sight of the mountains but since they've came this far and defeated the trolls, elves, goblins, spiders, and the Wargs I think they have enough fight left in them to defeat a dragon. They just have to work together and put their differences behind them to succeed!!!!
