I think that the dwarves were saved, because they didn't even try to put up a fight and just let them take them away. They didn't really try to do anything until Bilbo trys to help them escape.

well i think that the elves did save them or they might have starved but i am pretty sure that later on something bad would of happend to the dwarves
but i think that the elves should not have goten into thier buisness about thier journey they basicly locked them up just because they didnt give him information and he didnt even know them so that was wrong of the elvinking to do

Well duh they did but you know what I mean. -'they took them out of Mirkwood and gave them food, so really they saved them" I thought it was nice that the did "save" them.
