Ok maybe this is a stupid question since this is a fantasy book, but those eagles must have been HUGE to be able to carry a dwarf AND a hobbit. Just saying.

Yeah it doesn't really make sense because if they were afraid of the people, they would probably be afraid of the dwarves too. And I think one of the Wargs would be worse than a person, but the eagles fight them. And if the eagles can lift a dwarf, and dwarves are bigger than hobbits, than the eagles must be gigantic. But whatever, it's a fiction book.
Well maybe the dwarves don't have as sophisticated or powerful long range weapons. The only shooting weapons that I have seen from the dwarves are bow and arrows while the men might have cannons or huge sling shot type machines.

Yeah, to me it sounds lke they're HUGE. Like the great goblin didn't sound big, but the geat eagle or whatever his name was seemed ginormous.

I'm guessing they were pretty big because Gandalf is like human size and they had to carry him to their nest. Anyways like you said, this is a fiction book because there are half men/ half animal people and other fantasy things.

Yes, just a wee bit.
