At the start of chapter 15 Thorin is fruious at Bilbo
Do you think he has always had an edge towards him?
On page 10 it says that Thorin Oakenshield himself, was not at all pleased at falling flat on Bilbo's mat. So I would say that he probably had some sort of grudge against Bilbo.
