The Thrush spoke his language because "He was of the race of Dale" which was said on page 250 and the Thrush was in the mountain with Bilbo and company.

On page 210 in the LGB, it mentions an old thrush. Now on page 250 it mentions an old thrush, the same one mentioned on 210. The thrush did not know Bard's speak, Bard knew the thrush's speak, because "he was of the race of Dale."
