Errmm, are you talking about page 190? At the bottom of page 190 it says "So it was that Bilbo was able to take secretly Thorin's message to each of the other imprisoned dwarves, telling them that Thorin their chief was also in prison close at hand, and that no one was to reveal their errand to the king, not yet, nor before Thorin gave the word." So the message Bilbo was telling the dwarves was that Thorin was also in the king's prison and that the dwarves were not to tell the king why they were traveling through the forest.
