At first he wasn't hungry but later he became hungry so since Gollum has the capability of killing Bilbo, why do you think that he didn't just kill him and eat him before Bilbo saw him instead of playing games and loosing? Why do you think he didn't kill him after he lost, because Bilbo cheated and didn't say a riddle?
I think that he has been so lonely for such a long time that he thought that it might to be fun. Maybe he didn't kill him during the game becuase he was so sure that he would win that he didn't see the need to kill Bilbo!! Thats what I think!!!

i think that gollum should of killed him but my best opinion is that bilbo should of killed him since gollum already wanted him dead and then he could of just went out of the door that gollum was protecting so bilbo should of maned up because gollum said that he had already hated him

I think that he wanted to find out what Bilbo was before he even thought about killing him and eating him.

Maybe he wanted to play with Bilbo's mind. Oh ans after he lost i think he was in too much of a panic to do anything.
